Agnela Sixbert Msava

My name is Agnela Sixbert Masava. I am 15 years old and a proud recipient of the Flaviana Matata Foundation Scholarship. Currently, I am a Form Two student at Kidegembye Secondary School, located in the Njombe region.I come from a family of four children, and I am the third born, together with my twin. We live in Dar es Salaam with our mother, who has raised us as a single parent.Losing my beloved father in 2018 was the most painful experience of my life. He was a dedicated meteorologist who worked tirelessly to provide us with a stable and loving home. His passing turned our lives upside down, not just emotionally, but also financially. Suddenly, our future felt uncertain.

Our economic situation deteriorated rapidly. At times, we felt hopeless, especially when it came to continuing our education. Even though we still face many challenges, I wake up each day with a deep sense of purpose. I want to make my mother proud. I may not be able to solve all our problems, but I know education is the most powerful gift I can give her and to myself. I work hard every day with the dream of becoming a meteorologist, just like my father. I want to continue his legacy.

I admire how the Flaviana Matata Foundation supports, empowers, and uplifts girls to pursue their dreams. For me, this scholarship is more than just financial support, it is a bridge to a brighter future and a chance to rewrite my story.I am inspired to become a source of hope for other girls like me, proving that no matter the challenges, dreams are still valid and achievable.
