DESCRIPTIONTo ensure that adolescent girls and young women are protected, the community needs to have access to the correct information. The Foundation worked closely with the community in creating awareness of Menstrual Health Hygiene Management and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights. The Foundation was able to educate school girls and communities on SRHR as well as MHHM with a focus on ensuring that girls stay in school.

Teachers' Housing - Phase I

 

DESCRIPTION:FMF has embarked on a project to construct teachers’ houses for Msinune Primary School as part of the foundation strategic plan for 2020 – 2022. The project is expected to be carried out in three phases, five duplexes will be built to host ten families of teachers of Msinune Primary School.

SRHR & MHHM Project 2022

DESCRIPTIONIn collaboration with Marie Stopes Tanzania, Marafiki wa Elimu, BIDII – Tanzania, and Youth and Women Emancipation (YAWE) we executed a project in Shinyanga Municipal Council and Geita Town council focusing on raising awareness in the communities on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) and Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management (MHHM).

                   4149 members of the community through dialogues and community engagement.

International Day of a Girl Child 2022

DESCRIPTIONThe Foundation partnered with Tai Tanzania, Msichana Initiative, C-Sema, and Girl Effect Tanzania, and conducted satellite activity in five regions (Shinyanga, Dodoma, Zanzibar, Tabora, and Iringa), implementing a two-day forum in Dar es salaam commemorated the International Day of the Girl Child.

 

The  Girl Agenda Forum looked at unfavorable/discriminatory policies like the Exemption of Tax on Sanitary Pads and the 1971 Marriage Law. The intervention's purpose was to develop immediate improved actions on the policy and law.

Teacher's Houses Phase II

DESCRIPTIONUnderstanding the importance of skilled and well-informed teachers, the Foundation was committed to creating a friendly teaching environment by constructing teachers’ houses at Msinune Primary school, and solving the problem of teachers' accommodations within the school vicinity. The Foundation partnered with the Tanzania Education Authority in the construction of eight teachers’ houses.

Education Sponsorship for Young Girls

 

DESCRIPTIONFMF foundation supports young females through teaching life skills, sponsoring education and vocational training, and empowering women's groups with micro-financing opportunities with the goal to enable them economically and to give them dignity, pride, and self-esteem.

Clean and Safe Water Project

 

DESCRIPTIONAccess to safe and clean water is fundamental in learning institutions. Lack of it may affect teachers and students. We have officially completed safe and clean water project, a facility that is capable of storing 32,000 liters of water to serve both students and teachers .

Binti Boxes (Sanitary) Donation
  • Description: Access to sanitary pads has been a problem for girls who live in poverty. FMF supported TAI's Jali project by purchasing Binti Boxes for 142 girls in Bagamoyo. The boxes include pads, underwear, disposable bags, and antibacteria soaps.

  • Description: The Public Service Pension Fund (PSPF), a social security scheme, striving to become the provider of choice of Social Security Services in Tanzania partnered with Flaviana Matata Foundation (FMF) for “Back to School Project” to fulfilling the PSPF’s corporate social responsibilities obligations. With Flaviana Matata leading the project, PSPF distributed stationery kits that include 1 school backpack, 12 exercise books, 1 mathematical set, 3 pens, 2 pencils, and one rubber eraser.

  • Description: In commemorating the World Aids Day December 1st, Tanzania Mitindo House in collaboration with Flaviana Matata Foundation, organized the fourth Annual charity Fashion Gala dubbed ”Tanzania Red Ribbon Fashion Gala through the campaign “Tanzanian Designs For Life” and “ Corporate Cares” at Double Tree by Hilton, December 1st 2011.
